Beyond Survival: What is God's Future for the Small Church?

Saturday, April 9th (9 am - 2 pm)

A Workshop with Rev. David King & Rev. Linda Kuhn
Barneveld Lutheran Church (ELCA)
505 Swiss Lane, Barneveld, WI

If you are in a small congregation and are wondering about your future, this workshop is for you! Our focus for the day will be:

  • To assist congregations in identifying the cultural changes and demographic realities of their communities
  • Through Bible study and discernment discover the missional practices of the New Testament Church
  • Connect these missional practices to new realities facing small churches today; and
  • Begin to build a congregational action plan and networking opportunities for addressing these new realities.
Rev. David King, Presbyterian Church (USA), has over 30 years experience in ordained ministry as a bi-vocational pastor, has served yoked congregations, has served as a church educator for a UMC church, initiated Presbyterian-Lutheran dialog, shared worship experiences and mission projects.

Rev. Linda Kuhn offers insights and experience from 26 years as an interim minister with over twenty Presbyterian and UCC congregations in Wisconsin during times of transition and distress. She is a past moderator of the Association of Presbyterian Tentmakers which holds joint conferences with Episcopalian bi-vocational colleagues. She and David live in Juneau County and operate Sand Bur Consulting. Scott Anderson, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Council of Churches, recently completed a sabbatical focused on revitalizing congregations.
